- Feb 12, 2018 -

Essex shipping company Scotline has announced the decision to expand its fleet to order 1/1 offshore container ships at the Royal Bodewes Shipyard in the Netherlands, which is expected to be delivered by November 2018.

The company said the signing agreement for the 4785 DWT Bodewes Trader offshore vessel includes an alternative order for one sister ship. The company's booked new vessel will be named "Scot Carrier" with a captain of 89.98 meters, a 15.2-meter wide profile and 5.68 meters of draft design. It will be classified as Lloyd's Register of Shipping (LR) and British nationality.

It is understood that the "Scot Carrier" wheel will be fitted with container slots and will be constructed using a Swedish 1B ice design in compliance with all the latest regulations, including the upcoming ballast water treatment system requirements.

Currently, Scotline fleet contains a total of eight own-ship. The company received the Scot Navigator in 2017 as part of its fleet renewal program.

Scotline operates a range of Nordic transport services with routes covering Sweden, Ireland, Denmark, Germany, Norway, the Baltic States, the Netherlands, France and the United Kingdom.
