India's Cochin Shipyard Ltd. (CSL) and Russia's joint stock company, USC, have signed a memorandum of understanding to contract the design and development of various modern, state-of-the-art inland and offshore water craft.
It is learned that Shri Madhu S Nair, chairman and president of Cochin Shipyard Co., Ltd. and Alexey Rakhmanov, president of United Shipbuilding, recently signed a memorandum on behalf of both parties in New Delhi, India. The two companies will cooperate to develop high-speed vessels, Jianghai cargo ships, passenger ships, dredgers and other inland and offshore water vessels. The signing of the memorandum of understanding will promote the Indian government's "Made in India" strategy. If the transport infrastructure in India is perfected, there will be demand for various special vessels in the near and medium term.
Russia United Shipbuilding is Russia's largest shipbuilding company, including all shipyards, including about 40 companies, with a long duration of more than 300 years.
