Carnival Group Ordered One LNG Power Cruise Liner

Carnival Group, a US-based cruise line operator, ordered a single LNG power cruiser at Meyer Werft in Germany. The new vessel is expected to be delivered by 2022.

 

This is Carnival Group's second-generation next-generation LNG power cruiser built for its brand P & O Cruises. The new boat has 5200 beds and uses LNG powered dual-fuel engines to operate at the port and sea. Carnival Cruises said it will be the largest cruise ship built for the UK market.glenflange

 

In 2016, the Fiesta Group set up the first LNG power cruiser built for P & O Cruises at Meyer Werft, with delivery scheduled for 2020.

 

The new cruise line is part of a plan for Carnival to deliver a fleet expansion plan to deliver 19 new cruise ships between 2018 and 2022. Currently, Carnival Group has signed agreements with Meyer Werft Shipyard and Finnish Meyer Turku Shipyard to build eight LNG power cruise ships for four of its 10 cruise line brands in the coming years, all of which will be delivered by 2022.glenflange

 

In addition to the two ships built for P & O Cruises, six additional new ships, including two built for AIDA Cruises delivered in 2018 and 2021, two for the Costa Cruises, will be delivered in 2019 and 2021, And two for the Carnival Cruise Lines, to be delivered in 2020 and 2022.
